Short version: we run a small, hands-on class, so a seat that goes empty at the last minute is a seat we cannot resell. These terms are how we keep the class fair for everyone who shows up. If something serious comes up, talk to us. We are reasonable people.
Dates can change
We hold every class we schedule whenever we can, but a date can be moved or called off. The usual reasons are too few students to run a good class, a trainer who is sick, a problem with the training space, or something outside our control. When that happens we tell you as early as we are able, by phone and email.
If we move or cancel your date and the new date does not work for you, you get every dollar of your class fee back. No fee, no argument.
Travel is on you
Students drive and fly in from all over, and we love that. We still cannot cover flights, hotels, rental cars, fuel or any other travel cost if a date changes. Book travel you can change, or wait until the class is confirmed to book it.
If you need to cancel or switch dates
Count the days between your request and the first day of your class:
- More than 30 days out: we can usually refund you or move you to another date. Ask and we will sort it.
- 30 days to 16 days out: refunds and date changes carry a 15% processing fee, because by then we have turned other students away.
- 15 days or less: no refunds. A date change may still be possible if a seat opens on another weekend, but we cannot promise it, and the 15% fee can apply.
Real emergencies happen. A medical situation, a death in the family, that kind of thing. Tell us and we will look at it case by case. The decision is ours to make, and we will make it like people, not a policy.
Any refund covers the class fee only, never costs you paid to anyone else.
How this fits with the The Finished-Floor Guarantee
The guarantee is different from a refund. If you attend all three days and do not finish a real floor by Sunday, you come back to a future class free until you do. It does not turn a cancellation into a refund.
Things outside our control
If weather, a natural disaster, a public emergency or anything else beyond our control keeps us from running a class on time, we are not liable for the delay. We will reschedule and the full-refund rule above applies if the new date does not work for you.
What we are responsible for
The most we are ever on the hook for is the class fee you paid. We are not responsible for lost income, other bookings, or any other indirect cost that comes from a class being moved or cancelled.
